Popsicle
Summer on a stick
$24.95
Like Alison's past books such as Macaron, Summer on a Stick is a specialized book which is quite lovely. It gives you a chance to really perfect an area in cooking. I've done a day course in ice cream making with serendipity and loved it. I'm always making sorbets at home. What I love about this book is the creative inspiration such as the salted caramel ice-cream. While in New York last year, ice cream parlours seemed to be the latest craze. I noticed flavours such as ginger, sesame seed, and lovely ice-cream sandwiches.
Alison's book has reminded me and given me great inspiration to make some creative flavours.
Wobble
$24.95
If your not into jelly you soon will be after only just flipping through this book.
With creations like champagne posy, choc mint slice or mulled wine, blueberry & elderflower, there's just too many to try. It's such a lovely alternative to other desserts and what a lovely way to finish a bbq or dinner. It's not a challenging book for experienced cooks, but will certainly make you think. And a great book if you want to look experienced and you're not.
It is such a specialized book, but I really believe you will love this book and it will be one kept on the bookshelf for years to come.
